Why Zapp chose Radioville
Zapp are a fast-growing 24/7 grocery and essentials delivery business. From last-minute entertaining, a movie night in with the kids, to missing ingredients or after-party drinks – Zapp brings ultra-convenience to life’s ‘need it now’ occasions. Zapp are fully committed to their delivery drivers who are all employed full time and to the planet, their whole fleet of vehicles being electric and they use recyclable paper bags. They’re real good eggs!
Zapp’s radio advertising was to sit within a wider 360 media campaign that also included TV, digital and OOH. Zapp’s in-house creative team had a really nice creative concept which playfully dramatised and exaggerated those situations where you need missing essentials quickly but you can’t go out to get them yourself – with the solution being Zapp which led to the ‘want it, Zapp it’ campaign strapline.
Our job was to turn the words on the page into really engaging radio commercials that compel listeners to take action and download the app.
While Zapp’s in-house team were great at developing and delivering excellent TV, digital and OHH content they didn’t have any experience in producing impactful radio commercials. Zapp’s team recognised they needed external expertise for their scripts to create maximum impact.
We’re never precious. The Zapp creative concept was really strong and the scripts were cool. There was no need to rewrite but we added value by:
- Trimming down the scripts to give the story space making it more engaging and easier for listeners to take in the messaging
- Casting the right VO
- Elevating the comedic tone with sound effects, music and ad-libs
