ABOUT US

Radioville is the UK’s longest-established and most famous radio advertising team.

We write, produce, cast, direct and record radio ads directly for some of the UK’s biggest advertisers (see our Client Page for a full list). The company began life in 1976, and rebranded as Radioville in 1998. As our name implies, we believe that radio is a different place. With different rules.

In traditional ad agencies, radio is often relegated to junior teams, with predictable results.

If you’re looking for a team of highly experienced specialists who work entirely in radio – and wouldn’t have it any other way – then, as the sign says… Welcome to Radioville!

How does it work then?

We can do the whole shebang or as much as you need us for.

We start by finding out a bit about you and your product and then taking a brief from you.  Next up we’ll write a radio advert script.  Well, quite a few of them actually, so when we present our ideas to you, you’ll hear a range of directions that the creative could go in.

You might already have a script and need casting for your radio advert, or any other audio.  We can do that too.

Once scripts and casting are nailed it’s the fun part – Recording a radio ad is an enjoyable and engaging process, and we encourage our clients to come to the studio and get involved.

The responsibility of directing a radio advert though lies squarely on the shoulders of a radio director, and we have a few of them here at Radioville; all extremely experienced at getting the most out of the talent and the script.

Throughout everything our radio advertising producers are scooping up all the admin and keeping us all organised.  Once the ads are edited, mixed and approved by you, your dedicated radio producer will make sure they get to wherever they need to be for broadcast.

Then it’s time to switch on your radio and listen out!

Liz

Account Director/Producer

Liz ‘Rammo’ Carter spent time working in other media before finding her love for radio at Radioville in 2003.

She’s super handy with a radio brief and has managed many successful projects over the years.

If her middle name wasn’t Clare, it would probably be ‘on the case’. In fact her training as a ninja means she has a knack for getting stuff done before you even know you need it doing.

If you can’t find Rammo at her desk, she’s probably hiding in the nearest wall.

Ben Fairman

Managing Director

It was a sunny morning in June 1975 when Ben first voiced his love of sound. “WAAAAAAAAAAH”, he exclaimed belligerently.

19 years later his passion took him to the successful radio production company, Commercial Breaks. In 1998 he co-founded Radioville. Since then he’s written and directed numerous radio commercials with a few awards and a lot of happy clients to show for it, created music and sound design and is a regular judge on panels for D&AD and the Radio Awards. All of this whilst maintaining a sparkling career as one of Soho’s top lushes, err, voice-over artists.

Ben still likes to cry and gurgle like a baby, but thankfully these days he does so in the privacy of his own home.

Sean

Account Director/Producer

Sean has three main interests – Fried chicken, Les Miserables and radio… not always in that order.

After university he tried, and failed, to get a job as KFC’s Global Tasting Director. Apparently, the position doesn’t actually exist – a fact that would still give Sean hives if it wasn’t for Radioville, which he joined in October 2001. Yes, he really is that old. Yes, yes, yes, we all know he doesn’t look it.

KFC’s loss is certainly Radioville’s gain because Sean has gone on to produce numerous award-winning campaigns for us.

Macca

Studio Director

The man who started it all, 36 years ago. Still most often found directing studio sessions with his customary flair. Has been involved in more legendary radio campaigns over the years than anyone in the business. Don’t get him started on Arsenal.

Tim

Creative Director

Tim traces his love for radio advertising to a stint working as a house painter on Cape Cod. He blames a combination of hot sun, paint fumes and over-exposure to WKPE 104.

Tim spent six years honing his skills in local and regional UK radio stations, where he became extremely conscious of the need for campaigns to deliver tangible results for advertisers.

He co-founded Radioville in 1998.
